DICK TADY

Dick, the leader of the DTO, took his primary instrument, tenor saxophone, at age 11 and played his first gig at 14.  He studied music at Youngstown University's Dana School of Music and earned a Bachelor of Science from Duquesne University and his Master's Equivalency at Penn State and Kent State Universities.  Along the way, Dick mastered the clarinet, piano, flute button box and banjo.  Dick is a retired music teacher of 34 years.  He has achievements to his credit including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame, as well as the Hall of Fame's 2003 Best Recording for his solo recording endeavor "Richard Allen Michael Tady Presents:  The Greatest Slovenian Polka Hits".

BOB McBRIDE
Banjo, Guitar, Vocals

Bob has enjoyed a close personal friendship with both Dick and Joe since the three of them played for class parties in high school.  He has been a member of the DTO since its inception, over 45 years ago, and with Dick and Joe in the Kenny Kron Orchestra prior to that.  Along with contributing guitar, banjo and vocal harmonies to the DTO sound, Bob has provided lyrics for several DTO original compositions, and the English adaptations of ethnic lyrics, which has become a trademark of DTO Recordings. Bob has been married to his wife Judy, since 1964, and they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.  He enjoys the friendship and camaraderie that the band members share.

JOE GILL
Acoustic Drums, Electronic Drums, Vocals

Joe's musical career began at age 5 when he studied accordion, until he reached high school and became interested in and began studying drums.  After schooling, he joined the United States Army for 3 years, serving in Korea, Vietnam, and the United States with the 101st Airborne Division.  Throughout his 40 plus years in the professional music business, he has participated in 13 recordings and is one of the original members of the DTO, along with Dick and Bob.  His lyrics for the Grammy nominated "Happy Days" recording is one of his most rewarding musical achievements.  Joe is happily married to his wife Rita and has 2 children and 1 grandchild.

TONY GRANDOVIC
Accordion, Keyboards

Tony has been playing accordion and keyboards too long for most to remember.  He has written and recorded many of his own compositions, as well as compositions that were written by the other members of the DTO.  His hobbies include computer archiving hard to find Slovenian style polka and waltz music.  he also enjoys recording in his home studio on his MIDI and digital computer based recording equipment.  Tony is best known by the polka fans as the "guy with all the jokes".  Being of Slovenian decent, Tony can often be heard singing along with Dick Tady to the good old Slovenian button box polkas and waltzes.

ED GOULD
Bass Guitar, Vocals

Ed began his musical journey in 1970 on the accordion and soon turned to organ and piano.  In his high school years, he taught himself to play the bass guitar and learned to sing vocal harmonies while playing in a band with his father and younger brother.  Ed is the newest member of the DTO after joining the band in September 2002.  His hobbies include working on computers, building websites, designing CD liners for the DTO recordings and laughing and joking with all the guys in the band Ed feels that it is a blessing to be working with such talented musicians and friends.  Ed is married to his best friend Tina and together they have 2 sons.
